LOUISIANA — If you’ve ever tried to prepare an Indian dish in Louisiana, you know that the first step is to start with the basics.
In fact, this is the easiest Indian food to prepare in the state.
A Papi is an Indian rice dish made from ground rice, rice balls, and some vegetables, and topped with a mixture of onions, tomato, garlic, and chilli.
It is made from rice that is cooked for six to eight hours.
It is a fairly basic dish to start, but you will find it delicious if you make it yourself.
Here’s how to prepare one for your home.
Put a small amount of rice in a small bowl, and add 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, and 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper.
Heat a small skillet over medium heat.
Add a little oil and brown the rice balls in batches, about 5 minutes per side.
Drain and put in the same skillet over high heat.
When browned, remove them from the pan, and set aside.
In a small saucepan, add about 3 cups water.
Stir together with a wooden spoon, and cook for 1 minute.
Remove the rice from the water and set on a paper towel to drain.
Heat the remaining 1/3 cup water over medium-high heat.
Whisk the eggs into the mixture and cook, whisking constantly, for about 30 seconds, until they start to bubble.
Add the cayanne pepper and stir well to combine.
Add about 1/6 cup rice, and whisk until it is thickened.
If you are using a slow cooker, add the rice mixture and rice at the same time.
The rice mixture will thicken slightly when it comes out of the pot.
Pour the rice batter into the pan and mix until it has a smooth texture.
Bake for about 40 minutes.
When the rice is cooked through, remove from the oven and allow to cool completely on a wire rack.
Place the rice in the fridge and let cool completely.
When ready to serve, place the rice back in the pan with the cooked rice, tomatoes, onion, and garlic, followed by the sauce.
